  1. Dear Waqar, I mean the P-delta effects. or the secondary moments generated due to deformed shape.
  2. Hi all, I am working on an assignment which involes modelling a 13 floors steel building in Etabs and perform the following steps: 1). Detremine all internal forces and moments to 'Theory 1 order'. 2). Proof of Load bearing capacity due to 'Theory II order'. I am not sure how i can perform analysis using Theory-I and Theory-II in Etabs. If someone can guide. Kind Regards, Muhammad Omer Anwaar
  3. I am modelling a Steel Hangar for A380. The Plan of the hangar is 100m x 100m and the height is 30m. I need some guidelines or thumb rules for selecting the sections and any reference material? Moreover i am modelling this hangar in REVIT.
  4. Asalamaliekum Firstly i am not sure in which group i should start this topic but the admin wishes he can move this post to the appropriate group. The topic title is one of my subject in M,Sc Civil Engg but i am unable to find any appropriate literature on it. Below are the topic i am interested in if anyone has the related literature please share them. · Concept of structural stresses based on linear finite element method (FEM) · Static assessment based on non-linear FEM · Fatigue assessment based on stress and strain calculations · Fracture mechanics to determine crack growth Looking forward to hear from the experts. Kind Regards, M. Omer Anwaar
  5. Dear Uzair, All the books you recommended were exactly what i was looking for. Thanks alot. I cant thank you enough. I will stay in touch. Thanks. Omer.
  6. Hi, Can someone please recommend me a good book to study the following topics: Plastic Analysis theory. Plastic Shear Force. Effects of combined forces. Steel composite Slab. Moreover any book which follows the eurocode to explain these concepts. Cheers Omer
  7. Thanx Muneeb and Uzair. I removed all the concealed beams and increased the slab thickness from 6" to 7" after applying an equivalent partition load of 120psf on the slab panel. This has solved the problem. Omer
  8. I cannot provide deep beams due to architectural constraints. although i have provided concealed beams of 9"x9". But the line loads are too high. How can i covert the line loads (also shown in figure) due to walls above into Partition area loads? loads.bmp
  9. This particular slab (19x18 ft) is expereincing too much displacement, giving rise to very close spacing in slab panel in the middle strip. It has three interior beams placed to carry line load of the walls above. How can this displacement be reduced? Slab 19x18.bmp
