miqureshi77 got a reaction from Howard Roark in Multi Tower Seismic Analysis
You need to provide expansion joint at podium near to all three tower and analyze them separately.
Because each tower has different time period Based on there geometry and loading so the lateral forces will be different

miqureshi77 got a reaction from UmarMakhzumi in CHAMFER REINFORCEMENT
this reiforcement need to provide to resist diagonal tension cracks.
normally it is required in large structures, where tension is high, no need for small structures

miqureshi77 reacted to Usman Altaf in Bearing Capacity in Karachi
@miqureshi77 Bearing capacity in Lahore varies from 0.5 Tsf to 1.25Tsf at around 3ft. below natural ground level, depending on location. Generally, shallow foundations work for a maximum of 3 floors.
Thanks

It varies from consultant to consultant but my opinion is that the normal design practice has destroyed Pakistan. If you need deep foundation, provide deep foundation.

miqureshi77 got a reaction from Ayesha in Assigning Of Temperature Load In Etabs And Safe
temperature load can be assigned to the members that affected with the temperature variation only (like exterior members)

miqureshi77 got a reaction from WR1 in Ubc Vs Ibc-2003 (For Seismic Calculations)
I will develop the list of consulting engineers firm
-
miqureshi77 got a reaction from ErBee in Reinforcement Results in Etabs With and without Shearwall
yes, in this case most of lateral load carrying by shear wall, so your beam column have lesser lateral forces, thats why the reinforcement has decreased in these members

miqureshi77 reacted to UmarMakhzumi in I am jobless (structural Engineer)
@waqar saleem, @EngrUzair, @BAZ might be a good resources to start. I don't live in Pakistan so can't do anything directly but please touch base with these three and then lets see where it goes from there.

do you have any experience with steel structure design ?

Dear miqureshi77,
Are you flexible on work location or would you prefer working in Karachi only?
Thanks.

For the calculation of kl/r ratio

-
miqureshi77 got a reaction from Omar Khalid in Slab deflection in ETABS
this deflection shows in Etabs is global deflection, this will increase due to axial and lateral deformation of the members globally,
if you check deflection individuallly with respect to each floor value than u will find the same deflection

You guys scared the hell out of him. No one can read that many books.
Dear Hassan, just pick one book and get the max out of it.

miqureshi77 got a reaction from Eko Juwanto in Flexural Analysis
Top bar in slab at middle span is not required except for temp shrinkage only
-
miqureshi77 got a reaction from WR1 in R/f at top in isolated footing
Sure for uplift , it requires, yes the foundation which is not backfilled for longer period shrinkage can be provided. But for shorter period no need to provide topr/f
