Statement of Purpose (SOP) Guidance for Masters Application

Basically a thesis based masters program. It varies institution to institution. Some institutions have thesis in MEngg and some in MSc. -
AoA, I am a senior year student and will be applying for masters soon. I was hoping to get some advice and recommendations regarding writing an SOP. Also, Universities require Letters of Recommendation from my professors. I've been asked to write for them and my professors will sign it. I'll really appreciate mentioning of any good links of samples etc to help me regarding the above two requirements.
