Some of the excuses we tell ourselves are: I don’t know anyone who has done it before/ too many people are already trying. I don’t have enough (money, power, skills, education, time) If I was going to do it, I would have done it already. I have too many responsibilities. I am too old or young. I will never be the best. Too many people are ahead of me. It’s not the right time. But, what if we simply rephrased these excuses into empowering beliefs? It doesn’t matter what other people are doing, this is my dream. I have more than enough resources to get started. There’s no time like the present! My number one priority is living passionately. My age gives me a unique perspective, and is only a number. There will always be someone to learn from. It will never be perfect, so I might as well stop stalling and start now.

but keep in mind the factor for Fluid Load is 1.2 not 1.6 as in case of live!

  8. what kind of structures.. FRPs are quiet versatile depends on whats the scope of your question but I believe you can never "replace" steel structures. FRPs are used with concrete too mostly. I believe question is more assertive if you are talking about replacement of "steel reinforcement" rather than steel structure.

  9. Chapter 12 ACI code explains in detail how you do it. I dont have ACI code anymore or else would have given you the exact reference. Mostly, on commercial projects the structural drawings lists a table that tells what would be length of hook, dia of bend etc.

  10. how do we measure the length of a bar with 90 degree hook at both ends bars are required for a square footing size 9'-9"x9'-9",bar dia #5,i calculated it as 9'-9" - 2xcover + 2x(12db+pi x 6DB/4), where DB is the dia of bend i.e 3.75" for #5 bar and db is the dia of bar i.e 5/8" .is it ok???

    Time History Analysis!!!

Thats an overkill. Dont do it for undergrad. Even @ grad level things can be confusing involving dynamics. The best system for you would be comparing different Lateral force resisting system for a commercial building with simple plan and elevation in terms of constructability, cost, labour, ease of construction etc. This suggestion has already been posted in forum, i am just repeating it here.

  24. Obviously there is no match for a masters degree and after doing it from germany i will for sure suggest that you must do it and do it from abroad where ever you like easy because it gives you vast experience of other nations and teaches you so many lessons of life which i promise that you will never learn in Pakistan. Simple that you not only do your master study but you will get to know some new patterns of life and the way you live. So do it and try for scholarship programs there are many like DAAD scholarship for germany and ERASMUS student program for europe etc select any of them ..
