Dear Rifat, you really need to re-read that codal provision. First thing is that you seems to be confused between Strength Reduction Factor, Response Modification Factor and Overstrength Factor. Overstrength Factor is the one you will be using with Seismic Load. Code says that IF you do not consider Overstrength Factor in your seismic load then you need to desgin your soft storey elements by enhancing your storey shear and moments by 2.5 times. That's what I interpret. However, I am open to discussion on this. Also, I am not much familiar with your national code.1 point -
