  1. i am modelling an infilled RC frame using single strut in opensees software, the base shear versus disp response of the frame does not show that the infill fails.... what could be the reason for that,, is it possible that an infill does not fail ?
  2. Hello everyone, what clause of the code specify that a given member shall be designed as a beam or as a column?
  3. Hello everybody i need a favour can anybody provide me with the following paper, i cannot access it.... Empirical relationship for frequency content parameters of earthquake ground motions by ellen rathje
  4. Hello everybody, I am about to do time history analysis of a structure for research purpose, can somebody guide me the best way to download GM files and the procedure how to select and download these files... Thanking in advance.
  5. Thanx for your kind response, for those who are following the post, i have figured out the problem and thought to share so that others may benefit from it. Actually the results that appear slight negative initially are due to the gravity analysis done before, as the load later increases with each time step the lateral force on frame increases leading to positive shears in cols.
  6. I have done a pushover analysis of 3-storey 1-bay masonary infilled frame using opensees and as i look into the shear profile of the frame at various time steps the shear in cols is a little negative intially and then becomes positive and the increases in the positive direction with the increasing lateral load until the infill breaks.... why is it negative initially (i.e. in the elastic range)?
