  1. I have done a pushover analysis of 3-storey 1-bay masonary infilled frame using opensees and as i look into the shear profile of the frame at various time steps the shear in cols is a little negative intially and then becomes positive and the increases in the positive direction with the increasing lateral load until the infill breaks.... why is it negative initially (i.e. in the elastic range)?
  2. i am modelling an infilled RC frame using single strut in opensees software, the base shear versus disp response of the frame does not show that the infill fails.... what could be the reason for that,, is it possible that an infill does not fail ?
  3. How can we model masonry infill walls with RC frame in ETABS? What is its effect on overall design of structure?
