  1. Hi Ayesha, Actually i have carried out ambient vibration measurements on a building and i need to compare dynamic results with 3D model. That’s why i need a shear beam model assumption. I have couple mode shapes (translation + torsion).
  2. Hello, Can we use shear model assumption to determine stiffness matrix of a building with couple mode shapes (i.e. translation+torsion)? Or just it is applied only for unidirectional mode shapes? Thank you in advance

  4. Thank you Umar for your response. Usually, this is the typical method. But, i have ambient vibration measurements for the building, these measurements give the mode shape, so i need to use them to determine the stiffness matrix ( i have also the mass matrix M). The aim of my research is to model a 3D building and simplify it to a 2D model and compare the results.
  5. Hello, I am a master research student. Actually, I am working on the assessment of the dynamic behavior of the non structural components on the modal properties of the building. I am trying to determine the stiffness matrix from mode shape. Is it possible to determine the K matrix? From the MPMR table, I realized that there is a higher mode effect (to reach the 90%). What is the best method to determine the stiffness matrix?
  6. Hello, I am doing modal analysis of an irregular building (mass irregularity and torsion). I am facing difficulties interpreting the table and what modes should be considered to reached 90% MPMR. I have the following table and i can't interpret. Can anybody helps me to obtain the appropriate mode shapes? Thnak you,
