Hi, I used ETABS 18 version for last 1 years, now I update this to 19 version. But I found that in ETABS 18 version "modal cases" menu are available in Define> Modal Cases. But in 19 version it was missing. In this version where the Modal Cases options can be found? Anyone please help me out in this regard? Thanks in advance

Aoa everyone. Another question on modal analysis lol. I have saw a lot of posts in the forum regarding modal analysis but still have questions in my mind. Sorry if questions seems to be silly. if a mode (deformed shape) in which mass is participation 90% it means that following mode is attracting more EQ force and how can we use the following mode time period in etabs as we have already define time period in static load cases (Program Calculated) ?? Secondly for response spectrum analysis it is necessary to perform modal analysis in etabs and when Etabs calculate base shear from both static procedure and RSA which one base shear is used in final design calculation by etabs ? If time period calculate by etabs is less then Ta then we have to use Ta, so how can we change the time period in etabs to Ta ??

Dear All, I received a peer review about the modal analysis I conducted in a high rise building. It states the following : "The preliminary mass participation factors indicate that mode 1 is predominantly translational in the transversal Y direction, mode 2 torsional and mode 3 translational in the X direction. It is not ideal to have torsional as mode 2". 1. What is the effect of Mode-2 on design as we usually concerned with fundamental frequency.? 2. How torsional modifier in ETABS is going to affect in this case? Any addition would be highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
