Dear Senior members, in Etabs when the option "reinforcement to be checked" in the reinforcement data sheet for frames is checked on. Analyzing and designing this element would give the design result in which the columns are assigned either green and somewhat skyblue colors my question is what is the meaning of these coloring? Also opening the summary of the reinforcement of column the shear design would have writings of "n/a" which means not applicable. Question is if something is not applicable how can the design be ok? needed explanation. And what is the meaning of "upper limit" in the shear rebar design proforma. Thanks in advance

Salam i have modeled the dome. now comes the reinforcement. in manual design there are only simple stresses (meridian and hoop) but in my model there are bending stresses too. Do i have to apply reinforcement for both B.M and these meridian and hoop stresses? Also which moment (M11 & M22) or forces (F11 & F22) should be used for meridian reinforcement. and which are to be used for hoop reinforcement.. Thanks in advance

Dear anyone, I am designing a dome with radius 40'. I have designed it manually (i.e amount of meridian and hoop stresses ) but since the dimension is very large, i have difficulty in designing the circular beam under dome (their occurs very large bending moment). i had searched the forum but every attachment has been either removed or is no longer available. now i am trying to model and design it in Etabs. and i read the material on forum the method using extrude properties command, but what properties should be assigned and what results should i be looking for?
