  1. i came across a method of checking water absorption of bricks " Here is a quick fieldtest to determine brick absorptive qualities. Using amedicine dropper, place 20 drops of water in a l-inchcircle (about the size of a quarter) on a brick. A brick that absorbs all the water in less than 1 1/2 minutes will suck the water out of the mortar when laid. " has anyone ever performed this test or any other such test on bricks in field???

  19. in engineering mentorship is very important for fresh engineers/final year students to get boost in learning basic techniques and practical knowledge from experienced seniors so is the internship for serious students.i request seniors that please show their willingness for mentorship and accommadte freshers/.final year students with them.that wud be great help for engineering students.please upload your willingness here and your field of experties and your location.thanx

  23. thanx @Rana Waseem it's ok spiral confinement is better than rectangular or circular ties,im of the view that if same reinforcement is used both longitudinal main bars and confinement but x-sections are different circular and rectangular in this case which column will have greater strength???
  24. thank you everybody!!!!i have another question that with same reinforcement one column circular other rectangular, which will be better???
